It’s a brand new week, and I’m so excited for everything that’s ahead! This week is all about getting out in the community, connecting with the amazing women who make Kingston and Kitsap such a special place, and soaking in all the small-town holiday magic that’s starting to sparkle everywhere.
I’ll be visiting local shops, chatting with makers, and stopping by some craft fairs — and every time I do, I’m reminded how much heart, talent, and creativity we have right here in our backyard. If you happen to spot one of my cards tucked into a doorway or left behind on a counter, it means I missed you this time — but don’t worry, I’ll be back! I’m lining up several incredible women to feature in the Kingston Community News starting in January, and I truly can’t wait to share their stories.
To help promote my blog and highlight these amazing local businesses, I’m also planning two fun community events — stay tuned for more details! I have a feeling they’ll be full of laughter, friendship, and that cozy local love we all treasure.
As we move into the holiday season, December is going to be extra special on the blog. I’ll be featuring women-owned small businesses all month long — perfect for your holiday shopping inspiration. This year, I’m making it a goal to do all my shopping from local shops, Etsy creators, and handmade artisans. There’s something truly beautiful about giving a gift that someone made with love and care. Every small purchase makes a big difference, and I want to celebrate that.
This week also brings a little family fun! Since it’s Veterans Day week and there’s no school for the boys, we’re taking some time to make memories together. We’ll be heading to Adventure Alley in Bremerton with my niece and nephew for some playtime, laughter, and adventure. It’s such a gift to watch them just be kids — carefree, happy, and full of energy.
Back at home, we’re diving headfirst into decorating! 🎄 The boys and I are transforming our home into a holiday wonderland with a vintage Christmas theme inside and out. I’m talking twinkle lights, old-fashioned ornaments, cozy candles, and maybe even a few new handmade touches. Decorating with them is one of my favorite traditions — the music playing, cocoa mugs in hand, and their excitement filling every corner of the house.
This time of year always reminds me of what matters most: community, family, and connection. Whether it’s supporting a small business, sharing someone’s story, or spending a quiet evening decorating with the boys, I’m grateful for it all.
If you’re a local business owner who would love a feature or review, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s make this season one to remember — full of heart, creativity, and the kind of connection that keeps our community shining bright. 💛
