I’m Stacey Pimm

I juggle so many hats, as a digital content creator, author of a children’s book series, twin mama, chaos coordinator all the while trying to navigate the teenage era, book girlie, Type one diabetic, going blind, dance in the kitchen while being a baking master, always licking the spoon! hotel hopper, experimenting with what my Nana did during The Great Depression, PNW born and raised, lover of the ocean and rain, and just as much as a palm tree and warm breeze lover. And now your new friend!

That was a lot to describe, but I am hoping something will resonate with you! My goal with writing this blog is to have you come with me as I journey through this next chapter, finding my voice as I listen to yours.

Meet Me Monday, May Magic: Welcoming Summer with Community, Connection, and Heart

May always feels like the doorway to summer, and in our beautiful corner of the Pacific Northwest, it is one of the most magical times of the year. The month is filled with celebrations that bring our communities together, from Mother’s Day and Memorial Day to beloved local traditions like Viking Fest in historic Poulsbo, Armed Forces Day in Bremerton, and the Rhododendron Festival in the sweet city by the sea of Port Townsend. The farmers markets are bustling again, gardens are beginning to bloom, and the sunshine reminds me just how lucky we are to call this place home. Between now and October, I truly believe there is nowhere more beautiful in the world to live.

Mother’s Day was especially meaningful this year. We took a Sunday drive to the Tacoma Waterfront and enjoyed dinner at The Lobster Shop, where I had the most wonderful lobster roll. It was one of those simple, perfect days that fills your heart and reminds you to slow down and savor the people you love. On Friday, I  hosted a meet and greet at Havencraft in Kingston. Even with the cool breeze coming off the water, the evening was warm in all the ways that matter. Meeting new women from our community who found me through social media and the newspaper was deeply moving. Watching my vision of creating meaningful connections between women come to life has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey. It reassures me that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

May also stirs up memories of motherhood, family, and the rhythms of school coming to a close. With only a few weeks left until summer break, there is a sense of anticipation in the air. This month is a reminder to embrace both the ordinary and the extraordinary moments. p flowers were planted in the gardens, and my mom gave me a beautiful lilac tree for Mother’s Day, a gift that will bloom year after year as a living reminder of her love, and my grandmas love even though she hasn't been here in so long. We are filling our bookshelves with summer reads from Saltwater Bookshop and Away With Words, including The Housewives of Green Sea Island by local Julie Farley, who will join us for book club at the end of June!

This month also brings the joy of farmers markets, evenings with friends in the backyard, and the excitement of theater season. I have already had the privilege of seeing American Idiot at Bainbridge Performing ArtsJesus Christ Superstar at The 5th Avenue Theatre, and this Friday I will finally see the beloved The Phantom of the Opera at Paramount Theatre. Closer to home, Mamma Mia! is being performed by the North Kitsap High School Drama Club, and I am so proud of my little cousin Kaley and all of the talented young performers lighting up the stage.

There is something special about the possibilities that May holds. Rainy days invite us to paint at Dancing Brush Studio, enjoy duckpin bowling at Area 51 Family Fun Center, or gather at home for homemade sourdough pizza, movies, and board games. Sunny days call us to tea at Dahlia Cove Studio, garage sales, school concerts, and adventures to the reimagined Seattle Waterfront, where the city feels fresh and alive again.

No matter how you choose to spend this month, I hope May becomes your invitation to reconnect with the people you love, support the small businesses that make our towns unique, and create memories that will carry you through the rest of the year. Summer is just beginning, and with it comes the promise of new stories, blooming gardens, laughter with friends, and the quiet joy of being exactly where you belong.
